Sunrise at Pura Ulun Danu Tamblingan

Long before the first light of day, our photography group gathered by the still waters of Lake Tamblingan. In the quiet of the morning, we stood in front of Pura Ulun Danu Tamblingan—a serene water temple dating back to the 10th century. Dedicated to the goddess of the lake, this sacred site nestled in the highlands near Munduk has held spiritual significance for generations of Balinese people.

The sky was heavy with clouds, and for a while, it seemed like we’d miss the sunrise. But then, just for about 15 magical minutes, the sun broke through. Soft golden light spilled across the lake, gently illuminating the temple and the mist that drifted around it. Reflections shimmered on the water, and for that brief moment, everything felt timeless.

This is why we rise early—to chase the light, to connect with something deeper, and to witness the quiet magic that mornings like this offer.

Campuhan Antapan- situated in Desa Antapan, Kecamatan Baturiti, Kabupaten Tabanan, Bali, near the more widely known Leke Leke Waterfall.
The waterfall has a very easy access, with a flat path following a river, making it one of the easier waterfall hikes in Bali.
If you are visiting Bali, I strongly recommend visiting this waterfall followed by visiting Leke Lwke waterfall.

Still can’t believe I saw a Komodo dragon in the wild!

It was a surreal experience to witness these powerful, ancient creatures up close on Komodo Island. Watching them move with such quiet strength, and being able to photograph them in their natural habitat, was something I’ll never forget.

I feel incredibly fortunate and grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime moment. As a photographer, moments like these remind me why I do what I do — to connect with the wild, capture its raw beauty, and share these encounters with the world.
