Golden hour light can change everything in wildlife photography.

I took this photo of a great egret just as the sun was setting. The low, warm light came from the side and lit up the bird beautifully, showing all the fine feather details and creating strong contrast with the dark background.

This kind of directional light helps separate your subject and makes the image feel more alive. Knowing when and where the light will hit is just as important as finding the subject.

Chasing the silky waves of Hawaii

Long exposure photography can transform crashing waves into soft, dreamy textures. This shot was taken with a 10 stop Haida ND filter, which helped slow down the shutter speed to create that smooth, flowing water effect. But finding the perfect exposure time is always tricky — too long - and you lose the details... too short, and the magic isn't quite there.

Walk up, turn around, and you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the castle rising above the rooftops. It is a perfect spot for photos, especially at sunset.
