Patagonia in autumn is something else. The landscape completely changes—deep reds, oranges, and yellows everywhere, with dramatic skies and constantly shifting light. This workshop is designed for photographers who want to experience and capture Patagonia at its best. We’ll be shooting in some of the most iconic locations—mountains, lakes, and glaciers—while the fall colors add an extra layer of depth to every frame. The weather here is unpredictable, which actually works in our favor, giving us unique light and mood throughout the trip. Throughout the workshop, I’ll be working closely with you in the field—helping with composition, using light, and getting the most out of each scene. Whether you’re just getting into photography or have been shooting for years, this trip is about improving your skills while creating a strong set of images. If Patagonia is on your list, this is the time to experience it.

April 12, Day 1: El Calafate, Argentina
Your Patagonia journey begins in the charming town of El Calafate, the gateway to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in South America. After arriving on your flight, you’ll transfer to your hotel in the heart of town, where you can unwind and settle in after your travels.
As evening sets in, we’ll gather for a warm welcome dinner—your first introduction to the group and the adventure ahead. Over a traditional Patagonian meal featuring Cordero Patagonico, slow-roasted to perfection, you’ll connect with fellow travelers and get a detailed overview of the journey to come. With great food, good company, and the anticipation of the days ahead, we’ll wrap up the evening and return to the hotel for a restful night before the real adventure begins.
April 13, Day 2: Perito Moreno Glacier
We begin the day early with breakfast before setting out toward the iconic Perito Moreno Glacier—one of Patagonia’s most breathtaking natural wonders
As we arrive, you’ll be greeted by the striking blues of the glacier, constantly shifting and glowing under the changing light. We’ll spend the day exploring different viewpoints, capturing the textures, patterns, and scale of this massive ice field. Along the way, the surrounding Patagonian forest, dressed in rich autumn colors, provides beautiful framing elements that add depth and contrast to your images.
It’s a full day of shooting, learning, and taking in the raw beauty of Patagonia. By evening, we return to El Calafate, where you can relax and unwind after an inspiring day in the field.
April 14, Day 3 : Transfer to El Chaltén + Sunset Shoot
After an early breakfast, we begin a scenic drive toward the mountain village of El Chaltén, often called the trekking capital of Patagonia. The roughly three-hour journey itself is spectacular, with wide-open landscapes gradually giving way to the dramatic peaks of the Andes.
On arrival, we’ll settle into our accommodation for the next two nights and take some time to relax before heading out for our first shoot in this region.
In the evening, we’ll photograph a beautiful canyon carved by the Fitz Roy River. Here, vibrant vegetation lines the flowing water, leading the eye toward the distant, snow-capped peaks. As the sun drops, the sky often comes alive with color—soft pastels or fiery tones—creating a perfect backdrop for the rugged Patagonian landscape.
It’s a calm yet powerful introduction to the magic of this region.
April 15, Day 4 : Fitz Roy Sunrise + Lago Desierto
We start early and return to the banks of the Fitz Roy River for sunrise. As first light touches the peaks, the Mount Fitz Roy massif begins to glow with deep red alpenglow—one of the most iconic moments to photograph in Patagonia.
After sunrise, we head toward the remote and beautiful Lago del Desierto region. Surrounded by forests and mountains, this area offers a completely different mood. We’ll spend the day exploring waterfalls and intimate landscapes, working on long exposure techniques and refining compositions in softer light.
In the evening, we move to a nearby viewpoint for sunset. With sweeping views of the Patagonian wilderness and Fitz Roy standing tall in the distance, this is a perfect way to close out the day—calm, expansive, and incredibly photogenic.
April 16, Day 5 - 7 : Torres del Paine National Park
Over the next three days, we immerse ourselves in the raw beauty of Torres del Paine National Park—one of the most spectacular landscapes in Patagonia. With constantly changing weather and light, each day is carefully planned to take advantage of the best possible conditions, allowing us to be in the right place at the right time.
We’ll explore a range of diverse and iconic locations across the park:
- Lake Pehoé – Its stony shores and crystal-clear waters create beautiful foregrounds, often reflecting the dramatic peaks beyond.
- Lake Nordenskjöld – A scenic walk through a hauntingly beautiful dead forest leads us to quiet bays, perfect for more intimate compositions.
- Salto Grande Waterfall – A powerful and dynamic waterfall, ideal for creating dramatic, long exposure images.
- Laguna Amarga – Known for its unique textures and occasional flamingo sightings, adding a subtle splash of color to the landscape.
- Laguna Azul – A calm, blue lagoon surrounded by wide-open views and peaceful scenery.
- Río Serrano – Winding rivers, grazing horses, and expansive terrain that capture the spirit of Patagonia.
Each day offers a different mood—from dramatic skies and strong winds to soft light and still reflections. This part of the journey is about slowing down, adapting to nature, and capturing the essence of Patagonia in all its forms.
April 19, Day 8: Torres del Paine → Punta Arenas
After breakfast, we will visit the Aigues-Mortes and will photograph the medieval town and the Salt Mine. We start the day with one final sunrise session in Torres del Paine National Park, soaking in the last moments of this wild and ever-changing landscape. It’s a final chance to capture the light, the mood, and the scale that make Patagonia so special.
After lunch, we begin our scenic drive back to Punta Arenas. The journey itself is part of the experience—endless Patagonian plains, dramatic skies, and a quiet sense of closure after an intense few days of shooting.
By evening, we arrive in Punta Arenas and check in for the night, perfectly positioned for a smooth departure the following day..
April 20, Day 9: Departure Day
Our Patagonian journey comes to a close today. After breakfast, you’ll take a complimentary shuttle to the airport in Punta Arenas for your onward flight.
As you head home or continue to your next destination, you’ll carry with you not just images, but memories of Patagonia’s raw beauty—its light, landscapes, and unforgettable moments captured along the way.
